Process and material
TPU vs PVC
TPU is PVC-free, stays flexible in cold, and welds cleanly without plasticiser migration. PVC is cheaper, clearer, and stiffer. For EU and US retail where PVC-free labelling sells, TPU is usually worth the extra cost.
How the seal actually works
Two folds and a slide lock is the standard: the fold path is long enough that water pressure cannot push past it. Welded seams at the sides are the real failure point, so we test the weld, not just the closure.
Where the silicone comes in
The ring that holds the window, the lanyard anchor and any moulded clip are silicone — that is our own moulding. The film body is welded TPU or PVC. One supplier for both means the fit is designed together rather than assembled from parts.
Questions buyers ask about waterproof accessories
Is TPU really better than PVC for a waterproof pouch?
For flexibility in cold and for PVC-free claims, yes. For lowest cost and maximum clarity, PVC still wins. We make both and will quote both so you can compare landed cost.
What IP rating can you actually achieve?
IPX8 to 3 metres when the seal and weld are both correct. We agree the test method with you before production, because "IPX8" without a depth and duration is not a specification.
Can the phone be used through the pouch?
Yes, through the clear window. Touch sensitivity drops in water, so we recommend testing with the actual phone model before committing to a run.
What is your MOQ?
500 pcs for a trial, 1,000 for standard production. Stock sizes can sample in 3 days; a new moulded clip or window ring takes about 10.
Can you print our logo?
Yes — silk-screen or heat transfer, up to 3 colours, either on the film body or on the moulded silicone part. Moulded-in logos last longer than printed ones.
