Process and material
Choosing hardness
Shore A 10–20 gives a squeeze toy that deforms under finger pressure; 40–60 gives a figure that holds its pose. Hardness also changes how much undercut the mould can release, so it has to be decided before tooling.
Solid or hollow
Solid figures are heavier and feel more premium; hollow figures use less material and stay cheap at 100 mm and above. Hollow needs a two-part mould and a longer cycle, which usually offsets the material saving below 80 mm.
Colour that lasts
Moulded-in colour cannot chip because it is the material, not a layer on top. Pad printing is used where you need a fine detail — an eye highlight, a logo — but it sits on the surface and will scuff with heavy handling.
Questions buyers ask about silicone figures
Can you make a squishy toy like a mochi or a stress reliever?
Yes — that is Shore A 10–20. Below Shore A 10 the silicone becomes sticky and tears easily, so we usually recommend 15 as the practical floor.
Is this food-grade silicone?
We do not claim food-grade. We can use a platinum-cure compound and arrange third-party migration testing for your batch if your market requires it — the report would cover the batch you receive.
How many colours can one figure have?
Four moulded colours is the practical limit before the mould gets too complex; beyond that we use pad printing or spray gradients.
What is the smallest figure you can mould?
Around 20 mm. Below that the mould cavity becomes hard to fill evenly and the defect rate climbs.
Can you pack them blind-box style?
Yes. We can do sealed blind boxes, a fixed assortment per display carton, and a chase figure at a ratio you set.
